Started on the bulkhead
s. Egads, that is why the boat was so cheap. They are fiberglassed and
delaminating bad. Could be do to moisture in the wood. Where does the moisture
come from? I tryed to grind with a sanding disc the bulkheads under the
galley. The aft worked well but the forward is yet to see solid fiberglass.
Consider adding a mat or two to the forward, and then a new peice of ply
screwed into the forward and glassed. to the hull. Fiberglass sanding is
not healthy. The aft side could proably be done with new fiberglass. fiberglass/wood
adhesion is the question. With the forward galley bulkhead joined with new,
and the aft quarterberth rePlaced, the aft galley should be sufficent. Also
removed the rudder. Lowered the bow of the trailor and dug a 8" hole underneath.
There is nothing to take care of the play. Considering some sort of shim
system, possibly if it is tighter up and down the play will be taken care
of. Otherwise some sort of shaft enhancer. It would be nice to have some
sort of bearings. Attempted to releive pressure from the aft via a tie
down strap sling between 2 2x6's moderate succsess, project defered for
warmer tempatures and until the fiberglassing process can be perfected.
Crew training is difficult.
